I tried a new pie recipe this weekend. It was for a chocolate chip cookie pie. Everyone liked it. I found the recipe via Pinterest. I've found a lot of recipes and other things on the site. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it yet.

So it's one week in and I'm already stressing about this. Working 12 hour nights, trying to spend time with my family, studying for my language exams; well, I just almost feel like giving up on this before I even start. Then it hits me, this photo project is supposed to be fun right? I make the rules. So if it I end up with a photo a day, 3 a week, or whatever, the main point is to capture my life and our life as a family. With that in mind, here's is my layout for week one:

A new year has started and with it comes my chance to complete my photo-a-day project. I tried last year, but I kind of lost steam when I had to go tdy for 3 weeks in March. As of this week, I go back to working 12 hour nights and that presents it's own challenges to the project. I'm going to give it another try and hopefully I will make it. Wish me luck...

I won! I was so excited to go to the digidares site this morning and see that my layout had been selected for the challenge. Here's my page:

Doug got this shot a Fort McHenry. I have to give him credit, the photo really is the star of the layout. It still makes me laugh when I see it.

Here are some more of the pages from our Disney trip. This first one is from when we first drove on to the Disney property.

A few weeks before our vacation, I had the chance to set up a phone call between Owen and Mickey. He received it the first day of we went to the park and it was a nice way to start things out.

Here are Doug and Owen riding the speedway cars. Owen got to drive and absolutely loved it.

Doug was picked as an extra for the Indiana Jones show. He had a lot of fun and Owen really got a kick out of seeing his dad on stage.

Here's the shrubbery outside of the tea cup ride. Very cute!

This is from Mickey's garden behind his house. This was the first place we stopped at the park and Owen was very excited to see where Mickey lived.

I know I'm probably silly to do a page like this, but anyone whose been to WDW knows that you spend a lot of time on these types of transportation getting around the parks.

Here are the layouts from our vacation that I have done so far. This first one is of Cinderella's Castle. It was being worked on while we were there, so all my shots include this crane.

This is from Owen's birthday. We let him go crazy with the sweets that day.

This is him meeting Alice. He was so sweet with all of the characters. He should each of them the autographs he had already gotten.

The parks were decorated for Halloween while we were there. It really added to the magic of the park.

Here are two new layouts from me. The first one is a my very first sewing project since getting my machine last month. I found the instructions to make these pillowcase pajamas and thought they would be a easy way to get my feet wet. Owen refuses to wear PJs, so this will probably be the only time I see him in them.

I haven't posted my recent layouts in a few weeks. Here they are now. I did this first one for a hodgepodge art challenge. I just love this pic of Owen enjoying his donut.

This one is of a baby bird we found perched on the fence out back. He looks so tiny and vulnerable. I always worry about baby birds when I see them on the first trip out of the nest.

This one details one of the types of flowers Doug planted in our garden this year.

I really love how this one turned out. I saw this butterfly in our front yard. It was so beautiful.

Finally, here's another bunny that I saw while walking Baxter at six in the morning.

Here are my latest pages. This first one was for a digidares challenge. I had kind of written this photo off as unusable, but the challenge was to use a bad photo. I'm really glad now that I did the challenge, because I really love how it turned out. Also, my page was randomly selected to win $20 in giftcards!

This is from the 4th of July fireworks show we saw on base. Doug really got some amazing shots!

Here are my pages for the past week. This first one I did for a challenge at ScrapMatters. The instructions were to make a list of faves; so, I made a list of some of the things I know Owen is enjoying this summer.

This page was from last night. We went out to see the fireflies.

This was from last weekend. We have a box of dominoes and sometimes Owen gets them out to play. Usually, I do the work and he gets the fun part of knocking them down.

This was for a template challenge at Elemental Scraps. The photo was an accident. I kinda tipped over while taking pictures of Owen on his bike.

I've done a number of layouts recently. We've had some really great pics and I've been on a roll doing my pages. Here they are. This is one of when Owen and I went to the park the other day. Just look at that sweet smile!

I did this for a challenge at ScrapMatters. The challenge was to use only purple or pink. I wasn't going to do the challenge, because I don't have that many things in my life that are either of those colors. Then just this weekend, I found these roses on my morning walk. Gorgeous.

I've been meaning to do this layout for a while. I think I keep everything that Owen has ever drawn or scribbled.

This is from the first part of May. Owen and Doug have really done an amazing job with the flowers.

I kept meaning to post these, but for whatever reason it has taken me a while to actually do it. Here are my latest layouts. They were all done for different challenges at Scrapmatters. The challenge was to blend a photo.

This second one is about our queue at netflix. It's kinda embarrassing to admit these are the top 10 movies that we are waiting for.

Hearts

I recently done two layouts that contain hearts. The first is one I did for Doug, to thank him for being a great cook. Now that I'm working nights, he always tries to make sure that there's a home-cooked dinner on the table before I leave for the night.

This second one was done for a scraplift challenge at ScrapMatters. I love how it turned out and I enjoyed getting to use a bunch of girly papers.

What I have been up to

Not really sure what happened, but I haven't updated my blog in a bit. It could have to do with the fact that I'm getting ready to go on a work trip for two weeks and the fact that we have been going out more to enjoy the pre-spring weather. Whatever the reason, updating my blog has kind of falling to the wayside. Here's my last two weeks of P365 layouts. I have to admit that I almost gave up on this, but now I feel a renewed interest in completing the project. That is most definitely due to my new camera!

Here's a pic from one of our weekend day trips. I love how this picture turned out.

This is a picture of me when I was 6 months old. I'm slowly trying to put together a digi-album of my baby pictures.

This last one is one all my current faves. I love this picture of Owen playing doctor.
